Grandma's House Day 3

The 3rd day began with Church at my mom's ward.
Which she loved!  Riley got to go in Grandma's
Primary class even though she teaches older
kids.  Owen loved nursery and had no problem
going.  There were only 2 kids and one nursery.
Totally opposite of our ward.
Paige and Sierra went in the same class which
helped them be more comfortable.

After Church we took it easy and then for
dinner we grilled up some steaks.
Brandon was in charge of grilling but got
interrupted to help Michael find his frisbee
Sierra threw over the fence into the field
with the cows.  Earlier the electric fence
was not turned on but Grandpa turned it on
and Brandon was not aware. He was one
foot over the fence when it gave him a good
shock and he jumped twisting his ankle and
falling backwards catching his pants and skin
on the barb wire fence.  I'm sure it hurt bad
but I would have paid to see that.
In the mean time I came out to check out
how the grilling was going to realize the grill
was a loner and Brandon was no where to
be found.  Two minutes later he comes
out of the bushes limping.
And to make matters worse he ripped
his new shorts.  I hate it when that happens!

(getting shocked, rolling my ankle, getting caught
on a fence and ripping my pants all in a few seconds)

Anyway he survived and the ankle swelled a bit
but after a few weeks felt better.

After a good laugh and a yummy dinner we were
off to feed the lazy calf again.  Paige and Owen
got their turn this time while Grandpa helped
the calf learn to suck.   My kids realized a little
of the hard work farmers have to put in each day.

We did not make it back to the house and got stuck for
a while at the huge rope swing in Grandpa's mom's house.
The hope was so long that when Brandon pushed them
they went so high.  I even gave it a turn.  Lots of fun!

Riley was a bit scared at first but after everyone went
she tried it and then did not want to get off.
Riley is just one that does things on her own time.
The rest of us just need to learn to be patient.
Me especially!

Michael had to time it just right to catch up to Skyla
swinging to push her higher.  Michael did his back
flip out of the swing.  Of course he would try
something daring.

The kids took every chance they could get on the
four wheelers specially if Grandpa was driving.

After a wonderful Sabbath day with our family
we settled in together to eat Grandma's home made
Apple Pie that Paige helped make with Ice Cream.
I even tried some and loved it.  I'm typically not
a pie fan.

And to end the night with a laugh Owen picked up a
song that we've heard a few times in the car driving
and was singing it all week end.  And he only
sang the chorus over and over because that is all he
knew.  So I had to record him. He got Grandma's
microphone from her Karaoke machine and went
at it.  He sings so cute!   I love how he stops in
the middle to wipe off the microphone because he sang
to close to it and got it wet.  I asked him to do a bow
at the end and I was not sure if he knew what that
was and you can tell he thought about it for a minute
and then gave his best effort which was so darling!
