Get Air

My good friend invited us to Get Air with
her kids.  Riley and Paige had been there
but the rest of has had not.  It is a fun place
and we all wish we could have stayed longer.
Owen just loved trying to get all the balls.

Sierra of course is fearless and loves flipping into
the pit.

Grandma's House Day 4

On our final day at the farm the kids had to say
their good byes. But not before we pulled out
Paige's loose tooth.  It took her a bit to gear up for
the pulling.  She said pull on 10 and we got past 10
and I did not pull it.  I guess I was not ready!
She got so frustrated and her anticipation on her
face was priceless.  So we counted again
and I pulled before 10 and it flipped out of
the bathroom and across the wood floor in the
front room.

Riley got way to attached to this
stray cat that showed up on the farm while we were
there and had a hard time letting go.  No cats for me.

One last ride on the 4 Wheeler.
They never get enough.

On our way out we stopped at a park that was
having a Memorial Day Celebration.
They had put up 1,000 American Flags.
It was cool to see.

Of course we could not leave with out Grandpa
Feeding us.  We stopped at a mexican
restaurant, Jaliscos.  They have the best
Jalepeno Poppers!  After we ate we headed
home.  It was a nice weekend!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Grandma's House Day 3

The 3rd day began with Church at my mom's ward.
Which she loved!  Riley got to go in Grandma's
Primary class even though she teaches older
kids.  Owen loved nursery and had no problem
going.  There were only 2 kids and one nursery.
Totally opposite of our ward.
Paige and Sierra went in the same class which
helped them be more comfortable.

After Church we took it easy and then for
dinner we grilled up some steaks.
Brandon was in charge of grilling but got
interrupted to help Michael find his frisbee
Sierra threw over the fence into the field
with the cows.  Earlier the electric fence
was not turned on but Grandpa turned it on
and Brandon was not aware. He was one
foot over the fence when it gave him a good
shock and he jumped twisting his ankle and
falling backwards catching his pants and skin
on the barb wire fence.  I'm sure it hurt bad
but I would have paid to see that.
In the mean time I came out to check out
how the grilling was going to realize the grill
was a loner and Brandon was no where to
be found.  Two minutes later he comes
out of the bushes limping.
And to make matters worse he ripped
his new shorts.  I hate it when that happens!

(getting shocked, rolling my ankle, getting caught
on a fence and ripping my pants all in a few seconds)

Anyway he survived and the ankle swelled a bit
but after a few weeks felt better.

After a good laugh and a yummy dinner we were
off to feed the lazy calf again.  Paige and Owen
got their turn this time while Grandpa helped
the calf learn to suck.   My kids realized a little
of the hard work farmers have to put in each day.

We did not make it back to the house and got stuck for
a while at the huge rope swing in Grandpa's mom's house.
The hope was so long that when Brandon pushed them
they went so high.  I even gave it a turn.  Lots of fun!

Riley was a bit scared at first but after everyone went
she tried it and then did not want to get off.
Riley is just one that does things on her own time.
The rest of us just need to learn to be patient.
Me especially!

Michael had to time it just right to catch up to Skyla
swinging to push her higher.  Michael did his back
flip out of the swing.  Of course he would try
something daring.

The kids took every chance they could get on the
four wheelers specially if Grandpa was driving.

After a wonderful Sabbath day with our family
we settled in together to eat Grandma's home made
Apple Pie that Paige helped make with Ice Cream.
I even tried some and loved it.  I'm typically not
a pie fan.

And to end the night with a laugh Owen picked up a
song that we've heard a few times in the car driving
and was singing it all week end.  And he only
sang the chorus over and over because that is all he
knew.  So I had to record him. He got Grandma's
microphone from her Karaoke machine and went
at it.  He sings so cute!   I love how he stops in
the middle to wipe off the microphone because he sang
to close to it and got it wet.  I asked him to do a bow
at the end and I was not sure if he knew what that
was and you can tell he thought about it for a minute
and then gave his best effort which was so darling!

Grandma's House Day 2

The second day the kids were up and ready to go first
thing in the morning.  Riley got right to work weeding
for Grandma.

Owen got right to work on the farm with Grandpa.

Sierra even tried to help Brandon with the garage.

Paige helped Grandma.

After a day of work we called it quit and headed
off to the Ice Caves with my brother Michael and his
wife Skyla.  The caves are north of Rexburg.
We had to travel on a dirt road to the caves
that was the worst dirt road I've ever been
on.  A 4 wheeler would have had fun but in
our car it was crazy bumpy.
We bundled up the kids with jackets, gloves
flashlights and even cardboard for the ice slides
in the cave.  The caves were my favorite thing
to do.

This is the entrance of the cave.

Some parts of the cave were big open rooms with ice
floors and some parts of the cave we had to crawl on
our bums and even bellies.

Me and Skyla

This is where we had to get real low.
The floor was all ice.

After the caves we went to St. Anthony's Lake.
Brandon and my brother played Frisbee golf.
And the kids played in the sand of course.
It was a bit chilly so we did not stay long.
After we headed to Michael's house in Rexburg
to have pizza, showers and a movie.

Grandma's House Day 1

First Night and Day 1 at Grandma's House

The girls were off track and my mom needed her new
garage addition wired so we made a vacation out of it.
The kids were so excited to visit Grandma and Grandpa
on the farm.  We took off Thursday after dinner
and of course they all dosed off before we got there.
Owen was so funny though.  He loves his hat and
wanted it down over his eyes to block the sun
and ended up falling a sleep with it covering his face.
I tried to take it off and he woke up and got mad.  So
we left it.  And he slept most of the way there with his
hat covering his face.

The first day we got up to watch the men
corral the cows so they could get them
on to a big truck to take them to the cabin
for the summer.  Grandma couldn't have
been more happy taking the kids around
the farm telling them about everything.
And Sierra and Owen loved Grandma's
attention.

Owen took a special liking to the dogs.
The dogs followed Owen around and he loved it.

Paige and Riley got outside before all of us because
they were so excited.  Grandpa let them be on the truck
as it went around the farm unloading hay for the cows.
The girls just giggled and squealed as the cows
surrounded them.

The men had to separate the cows and bulls from the
calfs so they did not get trampled in the transfer to
the cabin.  So after the cows and bulls were out
I let the girls go in with the calfs.  They still kept their
distance even though the calfs were scared of them.

It was very intriguing to watch all the cows
load up in the truck.  I believe Grandpa
has more then 50 cows.  Brandon got
such a kick out of corralling the cows
and ended up using the cow shocker.

Riley was so excited to see and feed
the baby cow that was not doing so well.

And sister had to give it a try too.

Brandon and I loved having no schedule
and just doing what ever and being together.
My mom took this picture unknown to us
but I love it!  I remember talking with him
at that moment and I just love my sweet
Husband!

After we got the cows in the truck we packed
a lunch and headed for the cabin.
Owen loved ringing the big bell at
Grandpa's cabin.

We went on a small hike up the mountain
and the kids loved finding their own walking sticks.

After an afternoon at the cabin Grandma
and Paige made apple pie.

And Riley cut the grass for Grandma.
She thought she was so mature
being allowed to mow.

Brandon and I got back to work wiring
the garage.  Brandon taught me a few things.
I know it's not something I'd enjoy doing
all day and every day like Brandon though.
But it was fun working together.

For dinner Grandma and Grandpa treated
us to dinner at an all you can eat Pizza,
pasta and salad restaurant.
My kids ate great which is always nice
when you go out to eat.

Soccer Party

Paige's soccer coach had a pizza party after the last game
to hand out trophies.  The girls loved getting together to play
instead of practice soccer.  However it was so windy outside
that our plates kept flying away.  But the girls had fun
and loved getting their trophies.  Paige especially was excited!
The last two years she only got a medal and before she started
playing soccer she always said she wanted a trophy.

1st Grade Program

Paige had her 1st grade Program.  The program was all
about Dinosaurs.  She was so excited and practiced the
songs all year long.  A few weeks before the program
she got to paint a shirt how she wanted.

I took Paige and Riley over to the school an hour
before it started to get a seat.  I know that is crazy
but I was not the only one that went that early.
She sang songs about dinosaurs that I did not even
know the names of or could even pronounce.
