Family Dinner

Since we spent Christmas day with Brandon's family
we spent the day after with mine. It started out with
a family party with my mom's family. Then we headed
back to my house for dinner.
Karissa, Sierra and Riley playing apples to apples with the
cousins.

We decided to have a ham dinner. Riley Threw on her new
apron and got to work.
Michelle and Paige pealed the sweet potatoes.

Cooking did not last for Riley. She moved on to doing uncle
Mikel's hair. He has a ton of it!

The family at dinner.

After dinner my brothers battle it out in Chess.
They are both pretty good.

We rotate from sibling to sibling with gift giving each year.
And this year we had my brother Michael and his wife
Skyla. I love Michael's face when he discovers what his
gift is.
Then this is Michael and Skyla starting a pillow fight
with their new king size pillows we got them.
hmm, Newly Weds!

John, Paige, Mom, Michelle and Patrick

The night ended and they had to travel back to Idaho.
All us siblings bought John a painting.
It's the John Mcnaughton Painting called
"One Nation Under God"
We thought it could go in one of his
many offices.

Christmas Day 2009

Our kids let us sleep in until 7:00 or so.
Riley was the first up. Which is not like her.
She is not a morning person.
She was thrilled to get Mickey Mouse to go with her
Mini Mouse.

Paige was completely satisfied with the stocking gifts.

Sierra took a little convincing to get her awake. She did
not quite understand what the fuss was about. Until she
started pulling out fun things from her stocking. Bubble
tape being her favorite.
As a tradition in Brandon's and my family we would
line up to go into the living room. Youngest first. Sierra
is still half a sleep and did not understand why we wanted
her to go into the living room when all she wanted to
do was go back to bed. But she finally figured it out.

Santa brought Riley a vanity station. She loves doing hair.
Good thing she has sisters that will let her do their hair
all the time!
Sierra found her grocery cart put her princess game and
Teddy bear in the cart and she was on her way.
Paige couldn't believe that Santa would get her the one
and only thing she wanted, a wedding Barbie.
And to make it even better it was her favorite Princess,
Ariel.
Sierra showing off her new boots.
Sierra opening her favorite gift, The diamond
castle barbie, Alana.
Sierra studding everything about her barbie.
The neat thing about this barbie is that it
sings a few songs from the movie. So Sierra
sings and dances. She know about ever word.
It was her favorite movie for the longest time.
Sierra was so funny Christmas morning. She
did not want everyone trying to take her doll so
she ran into her room and played with her doll
by herself. We finally got her to open more gifts.

Riley and Paige thought it was so funny that they both
bought each other Hula Hoops for Christmas.
Of course everyone had to try it. I guess we all
wanted to see if we could still hula hoop after
so many year since grade school.
Grandma giving it a try. She still has the moves!

Grandpa had to work at it but finally got it around
a couple of times!
Aunt Katie was a natural.

Brandon is the hardest to buy clothes for. He did not end
up keeping this sweater but I guess it's the thought that counts.

Sierra disappeared from the living room so I went looking
for her and she had unraveled the entire bubble tape and
was trying to shove as much gum as she could into her mouth.

We invited Brandon's siblings and parents over for
Christmas Breakfast before we all went our separate ways.

Great Grandpa Gardner and the girls

Aunt Rachael being so nice and letting Riley do her hair.

After a morning with Brandon's family we headed off to
my dads house.
He had this funny Christmas hat that wiggled and sang.
Riley thought it felt so funny to wear!

Paige is pretty sentimental when it comes to PJ's.
She gets so sad when she out grows them and cries.
So Grandpa scored big buying her some new ones.

Riley got a jewelry box. Which is good. That girl has more then
me. Plus she received two jewelry making kits so it works
out perfect.

We did not own a toy cash register but sierra loves them.
She always plays with the neighbors when ever she goes over
there.

My dad and the girls

Me and my Dad

After my dads house we headed to the Gardner's for
Dinner and more present giving.
This is the chair Brandon's Grandpa's, fiance made him.
It works perfect for Bear Lake.

Josh and Grandma

We bought Brandon's dad a case for his gun that
Brandon has had for a long time. It use to be Brandon's
Grandpa's gun, who gave it to Bob.
The boys always talk about the gun being such an accurate
shot. But I can never seem to hit anything with it!
Maybe that's just my bad aim!
It was pretty funny how not too long before Christmas
Bob was talking about his gun and wondered where
it had gone to. Of course Brandon had it. He uses it
more then anyone in the family.
So we gave it back for Christmas! And with the new case!

Paige got a new Princess mirror so she does not keep taking
my mirror and breaking them. We've gone through 3 now.
Sierra got the same thing. The girls like to pretent along
with this barbie princess movie. And the mirrors are
apart of the movie.

Riley opening more gifts then she needs.
But loves it anyway.
After talking and hanging out for a while we wondered where
Sierra had disapered too. This explains it. She got into
Grandma's make up. All over her face hands and shirt.
It was a wonderful Christmas. Nothing better
than being with family.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Brandon's family.
We had a wonderful dinner.
Thank You Lisa!
Spencer's parents, me and Brandon

Bob, Lisa, Katie and Spencer

We then acted out the Nativity as we do every year.
Sierra got to play Mary which did not last long and I ended
up taking over the roll. I'm usually the picture taker but
we needed a Mary, so I don't have any picture of the others.

We sang songs and the kids made the music with the chimes!

Sierra did not get that you have to hold the string and not
the metal chime to make music.

Every year we let the girls open one present, which is always
new matching PJ's. Riley finally caught on what the present
was going to be before they opened it.
It is getting harder to find matching PJ's with
the different sizes I have to get.
It turned out to be a wonderful night. I probably
enjoyed it more then Christmas Day. I'm so grateful
For the birth of our Savior. It was nice to have the night
to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
