Clearfield Mini Cheer Clinic

This year Riley wanted to try out
the Mini Cheer leading Clinic at
Clearfield High school.
She is really shy and has a hard
time doing things in front of people.
So I left the decision up to her and
she said "YES". There were
three nights of practice and then
a performance at the basketball game
half time. The first night she came
home from practice she was cheering
all night. It was nice to remember the
cheers from when I when there so I could
help her.
All of her aunts, uncles and Grandparents
came to see her perform. What a lucky girl!
I'm know she was terrified performing
in front of all those people but she did
so good and we are so proud of her for
not chickening out. I'm sure it helped to have
her best friend cheering with her.

I'm sure she'll want to do it next year.
For weeks she had the words to the
cheers taped up on her door. And she
still does the dance and cheers around
the house.
She was so excited I did her hair
in a darling up do with curls and shiny green
ribbon that she decided she wanted mascara on
along with the shadow, blush and lip gloss.
I was surprised she let me curl her eye lashes
and put mascara on. She gets nervous with things
getting in her eyes. She looked so cute!

Getting the girls hair cut.

We are so lucky to have a hair stylist in the family.
My brother Michael married Skyla not too
long ago and now we get to take advantage of
her awesome talent. She is so sweet. One Saturday
she was down here visiting from Idaho she Bleached
my hair, dyed my sisters and cut all of my girls hair.
I think it was Sierra's first hair trim except when I've
trimmed it and she was not having it. I'm not sure why
she was so upset and scared. That is not like her. We
even let Riley and Paige go first. I think she was
really tired.
Riley thought it was so fun that her Aunt used
her sprayer from her play salon to get the
girls hair wet because I did not own a spray
bottle at the time.

Ogden Fest

This year we made it up to the Ogden Festival.
They had Snow Mobile races, people getting
pulled by horses on their skis and boards,
human bowling, and some other things.
It rained a little so we did not stay long.
The night before my brother in law, Mikel
entered into the boarding contest and made
it to the finals. But decided to head home
when his sweet baby was ready to go.
It was fun to watch and it was all free.
Maybe next year it will be better weather.

Riley's Valentines Party

I was also able to help at Riley's
party. Riley does not like the attention
all on her. But she played, "Pin the heart
on the Cupid" anyway.

They decorated cookies which Riley never
usually eats the entire cookie.

Her favorite part was passing out valentines
to all her friends.

Riley loves having her best friend, Hallie
in her class.

The last of the snow men

With the last of the snow Paige and
Sierra built a snowman, with my help
of course. Paige had the bottom of
the snowman all rolled before I
got dressed and ready to help.
These are one of the few reasons
we like the winter.
But we are ready for the sun to
start shining!

Paige's Preschool Valentines Party

Paige had her Preschool Valentines Party
which I was able to help at. Sierra had to
tag a long which was not a big deal. She
fit right in pretending she was already
in preschool. I guess it's good for her since
she will be going there in the fall for school.

Paige and Sierra liked play time the best.
They never get sick of dressing up!

Sierra tried to be so big like the other
kids and sit quietly for story time.

It was then time to decorate their cup cakes.
Mrs. Katie gave Sierra one to decorate too,
but she did not like getting her hands dirty
from the frosting.

Paige loves being in the same class with
her best friend, Riley Tidwell.

Stomach Flu & Pure at Heart

We all hear that children at a young age
are innocent and pure. And sometimes we
argue that when they fight with their
siblings and sometimes say mean
words. But I thought a little more
about children being innocent and
realized that yes they are innocent and
pure at heart but not perfect. I guess in
my mind I associated those as the same. When
in fact they are not the same. None of us on this
earth is perfect. But last night at two in the morning
this just gave me another example of why my children
are pure in heart. Riley woke up puking her guts out
and in between puking and trying to breath she blurts
out that tomorrow is P.E. day and that she did
not want to miss school. I'm sure that will change
in a few years when she hates school. I got her all
cleaned up and settled on the couch with a bucket, when
she said something else so pure and innocent. I remember
mentioning this to her once before but I guess she
remembered it clearly. Riley said, "I can't wait until
Jesus comes again." I asked her why and she said, "so
we can all be resurrected and never get sick again."
I'm glad she associates Christ's coming with
being well and happy.
I'm so grateful for my children. They teach me how
to see the good in things and that life is not really
as complicated as we make it.
